Would you fight for Love if its worth it? Love, Love, Love, I hear you say all the time. The world is full of stories of love and the things that many people do because of love.
The month of February is filled with loving memories of people who found love, fell in love and lived in love. Most of these stories are mere words written in ink, while others are true to nature of what Love can do. The only problem is that in most cases, once the month passes, like most New Year Resolutions, the love start fading away gradually. Many people do not fight for Love or make an effort to.
What is a man, that God so much loves him to the extent that He had the mind to give His only begotten Son to come and die on his behalf, and restore him back to his maker?
This is love in action. Because God so much exhibited His love for mankind. What does He get in return, people who are choosing to go to war with their fellow humans all in the name of enmity?
Why fight for love when we are Christians.
“24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things…..” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Most of us have an erroneous conception of love as being cuddly mushy… NO, love is fierce. Remember the chivalrous knights of old they FOUGHT to keep the Princess.
Did Usain Bolt keep the championship title by lovingly smiling at his best friend and fellow competitors? Don’t Venus and Serena Williams loves each other like Sisters yet compete against each other.
Do you love God? Then you’ll fight everything around you from family, friends etc. to keep Him and keep His ordinances. God is love and gave Jesus Christ out of Love to come to the World and die for our sins…John 3:16.
But Jesus Christ asked one of the most puzzling questions of all time – “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the Earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35″For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW… Matt 10:34
To Love God is not just mere words and expressions that we do when we are around people of same belief. It encompasses more than just coming together under one roof and singing praises to God.
Why Should We Love our Enemies?
Why then do we need to show Love to our enemies? Love is a commandment and loving your enemies is part of the legacies that Jesus Christ left for us here on Earth.
We are commanded by Christ Jesus to love our neighbours as ourselves and to love those who hate or persecute us. We do not have a choice but to love and show love to others.
By so doing, we will be in a position to say that we have finished the race and have kept the commandments of aged through Christ Jesus.
So my beloved, if you love yourself and also love Jesus Christ, it’s time to seriously get your wits around and be business minded and be in a position to say like Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand……”
Would you Fight for Love?
Love is your weapon. Fight for love, fight in love. Love is life. Love life.
